All Moved In

This week, we were able to get everything moved from the condo into our house. I'm still getting used to the 'our' part. ;) The condo is empty and the keys have been turned over to the family renting it. Unfortunately, since we had to move everything so quickly, the house is an absolute mess; boxes, bags, and stuff everywhere. We have made quite a bit of progress over the weekend getting it put away, but there still is a lot of work left. I'll be glad when it's all organized though!

Moving In Together

Well, after almost two years of 'living together' in two homes, Jim and I are finally moving in together into his house, soon to be our house. We have been trying to sell my condo for over a year, and with the market getting worse and worse, we decided last fall to try and rent it out. We've had a few people interested, but they wanted to pay much less rent than we were willing to accept. Well, just after the New Year, I found a posting for a family looking for a condo in the area of mine. Well, it's almost two weeks later and the paperwork will be signed this afternoon! I'm so excited (and relieved). We spend so much money for one household to always be empty, and with the wedding coming up in a year, we'll be able to save much more. However, the actual packing and moving, I'm not looking forward to though...

Mit freundlichen Grüßen

Well, my trip in Langenthal is coming near a close, my flight back home is this Friday. I've had a good time, well, I guess as much as you can on a two-week business trip. ;) The hotel I'm staying at is the Hotel Baeren, which is really nice. Here is a picture of the hotel as well as two pictures from my window:

The highlight of the trip definitely has been visiting my uncle, aunt, and two cousins this past weekend. My uncle picked me up on Friday evening, and we drove the hour and a half to their home in Ermatingen. Saturday, we did some souvenir shopping and my cousin had a hockey game. Saturday night, we had a traditional Swiss dish - Raclette. Cheese is melted in a raclette burner by each person, seasonings are added, and then it's poured over potatoes. On the top of the raclette burner, meat and other vegetables are cooked. It was very good - I looked online and found that Williams-Sonoma has a Raclette Maker and if I can find the ingredients at home, I'd really like to buy it. Dinner also including some merlot tasting, which was really good. Sunday, we didn't do too much, and then I took the train back to Langenthal late Sunday afternoon. Here are a few pictures from the weekend:

While it has been a fun visit, I'm definitely looking forward to going home this weekend!

Off To Langenthal, Switzerland

Well, in several hours, I'll be on a plane, heading to Langenthal, Switzerland for work. Langenthal is about an hour outside of Zurich, which is where I'll be flying into. I've been traveling quite a bit for work the past few months, and am not totally thrilled about traveling again so soon. Mainly because my trip is scheduled for two weeks, and has a possibility of getting extended. However, I am looking forward to visiting Switzerland, and hopefully getting a chance to do some sightseeing. In addition, I have family - uncle, aunt, and two cousins - about two or three hours away that I'll get to visit. On the plus side if my trip does get extended, I was able to find flights for under $500 for Jim to come and visit me, so if that happens, I'll definitely be looking forward to that!
